Deep within caliginous soul,
I lost it, broken-hearted,
braced against the winter’s chill
of life’s great joys departed
And long remained it out of sight,
I could almost it forget,
but for dreamscapes late at night,
its engrams in my head
But journeys lit that which I lost,
dispersed its shrouding mists
If I were to believe in ghosts,
I’d see your hand in this

Speaks of deep yearning?
Yes, and healing, Cin 🙂
I love this, bb, it’s so compelling. Lost and found, on a journey into the depths of soul…xPenx
(I had to look up ‘engrams’, you’re educating me too 😉 )
ha, ha – thanks, Pen. Glad you enjoyed it.
Finding good things that somehow got lost… What is it that causes us to lose these good things sometimes, and what triggers their return? Mysteries…
Yes, Zoë, I guess our negative perspectives are shaped by all sorts of things in life and, sometimes, it just takes one unexected experience to change them to a more positive outlook.
I love this post, Bb. Would that all lost treasures could find their way home.
Thanks, Adeeyoyo – yes, were it so 😀
ectoplasmic visitors in the dreamscape 🙂 excellent poem (I am often visited in my dreams by the dear departed – it is lovely to catch up).
ha, ha, thanks – I love the sense of the ordinary conveyed by your “lovely to catch up” comment 😀
A stunning commentary on the psyche’s ability to lose and then find what it needs.
Thank you, Monica – good to have you back from your travels, which looked fabulous 😀
really lovely. nostalgic yet hopeful.
Thank you, Sana – nice to have you visit again 🙂
