Reduce waste, improve service levels
I’m sailing down the Mekong
implement LEAN techniques
lilt of Mandarin in my ears
reduce bottlenecks, manage cash flows
building schools in Vietnam
forecast seasonality peaks
to the sound of children’s cheers
filming critters in the Galapagos
giant tortoise and marine iguana
orangutans in Borneo
and Amazonian flora and fauna
dining in the Shanghai Bund
cycling through rural China
catching Tokyo no kabuki-za
and jazz in a New York diner
capturing Northern winter snows
ancient men in Parisian alleys
icebergs in Antarctica
vineyards in Chilean valleys
Optimize
camping out on English moors
Streamline
for some creative brooding
Synchronize
writing that novel in my head
but right now work’s intruding!

So good, Bluebee. That’s quite a travel schedule you have planned for yourself.
Thanks, Monica – if only one didn’t have to work so hard to get there. But then perhaps we wouldn’t appreciate it as much, I don’t know…
This is really fantastic! You make me feel like travelling. I popped over to Desk Daydreams and saw what you wrote about synchronous postings/ideas – it seems to happen a lot with blogging – a type of spontaneous combustion across space, where ideas emerge simultaneously (and sometimes the bloggers are not even reading each others works, so it is really a disconnected synchronicity – amazes me no end). And other times there is an ‘interaction’ between bloggers which creates something new (the sum is greater than the parts). Cheers Stephanie Fry!
Thanks, Stephanie Fry 🙂 (Am currently listening to the audio book ‘The Stephen Fry Chronicles’ during my treadmill slogs)
PS – Where would you go?
That book is on my Chrissy list (I buy my own presents – hubby is a bit slack in that Department). I would love to go to Canada, South America, Greece/Spain/Italy, NZ, Antartica. I’ve promised my son that when he’s older we’ll go volcano chasing – that’s where Italy and New Zealand fit in.
Volcano chasing sounds awesome!
Don’t give up on your dream list of destinations, I woke up this morning after dreaming of Morocco.
Mmmm, Morocco – that’s exotic, and delish food too! 🙂
What an amazing capital “A” adventure that would be! And why not? The generation before ours waited until work was done- until retirement- to ‘really’ live and take trips like this. Our generation is more likely to intersperse Adventure throughout our lives. Carpe diem. We only live once. Oh your poem has me thinking…
I like how you juxtaposed travel and ‘work-speak’ in concept and visually in the poem. Masterful.
Thanks for the reference back to my site.
Thanks, Zoë. It was fun to think where I would go – the list is endless, hence I’ll probably never be able to retire!
An excellent piece of poetry, Bluebee. The chaotic back-and-forth touched a very familiar chord.
Many thanks for your visit yesterday.
Thanks, Bill. I look forward to reading more of your work. Bb.
Hi Bluebee, I read your poem again and love it even more. I have always wanted to go to the Galapagos. And creative brooding on the English moors sounds terrific. Perhaps a collie will appear to gladden the heart. And if you come north to the snows, you will find a warm welcome. Best – Monica
Thanks! Ah, yes beautiful bright-eyed Collies 🙂 It would be great to go north to see the snows and would love to meet you if I do, thank you. I am in New York next summer but only for 3 days unfortunately. However, I do have family in Denmark and Sweden so should do a Northern Hemisphere winter trip sometime and include a few North American destinations as well. Have to work on that (less daydreaming and more work!) 🙂
That’s a long trip for 3 days. We’ll keep this in mind for the happy future.
Excellent.
A very intriguing structure to this poem
Thank you, Artwebshow.
