It’s winter in Sydney, so I’m not feeling inspired to go on a photographic flower hunt or think beyond this postaweek’s literal theme, so here are a few I took last spring in the Sydney Botanic Gardens

Gorgeous photos. What you call Kangaroo’s Paw is known in Europe as Montbretia, or crocosmia. It is a wonderful plant, tolerant of poor soil, shade, sun and neglect.
Thanks, Viv. Yes, Kangaroo Paw is perfect for the thirsty Australian climate 🙂 and the birds love them
Nice collectiion. I like the Variegated Tulip, without doubt it’s an eye-catcher. Thanks for sharing…
Thanks, aRVee – and for stopping by here 🙂
You’re welcome and thanks for dropping by my site as well.
I have added your link into my Thank you page (if you don’t mind)

That’s a nice gesture 🙂
Bluebee, what beautiful flowers and a magnificent city, too. Thanks for showing us these.
Hello Monica 🙂 – glad you enjoyed these. Hope all is on track on your side. bb xx
Oh my! This is absolutely fabulous. You just made my morning, BeeBlu! Thank you for this garden in a post. Lovely!
Jamie
Thanks for these lovely comments, Jamie 🙂 Glad you enjoyed
Loving the sundial, (would they miss it? .. 😉 ) .. and loved all the photo’s bb, without the rainbow colours of flowers and such, where would we be?.. greened off I think. xPenx
I love that sundial too, Pen – something of mystery about it. Glad you enjoyed the flowers 🙂
Every time I go to the Botanical Gardens I feel how lucky we are in Sydney to have it. It’s like a wonderland. The colours, the setting, the vibe of it. Guaranteed to lift the gloomiest of moods. I still ride on that little train that runs through it and pose for the Japanese tourists. It’s fun. Your photos are gorgeous. I love the sundial too as well as those astounding tulips!!!
I love that you still ride that train!! And pose for Japanese tourists – ha,ha – your inner child is alive and well which is just wonderful. Thanks, Selma 🙂 It’s one of my favourite places in the city (specially the Succulent Garden).
Wow – wonderful photos – bring on spring! Love photo 3 – the contrast between the kangaroo paw in the foreground and the building – both looking skyward; and the colourful flowers.
Thanks for these lovely comments, Gabrielle 🙂 The birds were going crazy outside at sunrise this morning, so I think spring is definitly heading our way now – yaaay!
Gorgeous! Especially the wisteria.
Thanks, Tilly – roll on, spring!!
Really gorgeous photo’s Bb! The spring walk is delightful and the ranunculus perfect…
Thanks, Adee 😀 ranunculus are such cheerful little flowers, aren’t they? I’m sure you’re looking forward to spring too – hope your recuperation is moving along nicely
Bravo! Enjoyed much. So many beautiful spring flowers … and we are all about harvest and pruning for winter and so forth … Enjoy your lovely spring …
Thanks. I’m just listening to the birds singing madly outside – they’re right into the swing of Spring already, ha, ha
