Have been a bit snowed under this week, so haven’t written any poetry, nor read any blogs – have a lot of catching up to do this weekend…
In the meantime, here’s my contribution to this week’s photo challenge: different views looking up at the Sydney Opera House that I took a while ago with that archaic thing known as a film SLR π

I’ve used the (damaged) photo below before for my poem Sometimes which I posted back in May but which fits in quite nicely with the ‘Up’ theme, too
Happy weekends, Fellow Bloggers π

Hope you crack your workload. I love the moody pics π
Have done so, Cin, just in time for the weekend π
These are just wonderful pics, BB!
Thanks, Kate – glad you enjoyed π
I am very fond of the Opera House. It is such an amazing piece of architecture and engineering. It makes me happy whenever I see it. Your photos are excellent. The old gal looks really good in black and white!
Thanks, Selma – yes, she is rather an ‘old gal’ π now especially on the inside with all that 70s styling, but she still has great external curves for her age π
love the textures in your photos
It’s just an amazingly photographic location, Nursemyra
Wow, those photos are amazing – you are great with the angles (very sci fi – almost scary looking). I would love to see something at the opera house one day (I’ve only seen it from the outside). Have you ever been to an opera or concert there?
Thanks, Gabe π I have been to a few things there over the years including a few operas, symphony concerts and a taiko concert (Japanese drums) which was amazing – I must say, though, that the main concert hall is not the most comfortable leisure space ever designed (perhaps it’s designed to keep the audience awake…if you go, take a cushion :))
you’re kidding – I would have thought the opera house would have luxurious seats π I suppose the emphasis is on acoustics, not viewer comfort – haha
Never been there – or to Austrailia – but always intrigued by this building. Nice post.
You’ll have to visit and see it for yourself, Jamie π
I love the ‘reaching for the sky’ effect bb, in all of them. I just wish I could ‘see’ the view from up there too, ‘twould be simply awesome. xPenx
Hello Pen – it would be awesome to go up there, especially at night – a few years back a few protesters managed to do just that and paint a big red ‘No War’ on the highest sail – maybe they could give us some tips π
Oh I like these!
Have you changed your look? I like it.
Observant Tilly π
I really like this set of photos. I’ve always wanted to visit Australia – your photos only made that wish stronger!
Come on over π Thanks, Benandjerrygirl
Fantastic photos – what an eye! And the poem is a favorite. Happy travels, Bluebee
Thanks, Monica π
Had a fantastic holiday, and now have a bit of catching up to do with work and a university assignment, but look forward to rejoining the Blogosphere shortly.
Hope you are still enjoying the after-effects of the wedding activity.
Best
