Watch out – endangered critters about
There’s something vaguely amusing about the first picture on this sign at Manly,
or perhaps there’s just something wrong with me for finding it so 😀

Just when I think everything in the world is finally going just right, I learn bandicoots are in trouble.
Unlike the wascally wabbits which have overrun the place
It is a pretty funny picture – almost like they are telling the bandicoots to slow down so they won’t get run over 😉 but also because the bandicoot looks so cartoonish – haha. I like taking photos of wildlife signs. Achtung Baby!
Hahaha – I hadn’t noticed that meaning until now – thanks, Gabe 😀
I think it’s funny too!
Haha – I think he needs a scream bubble 😉 thanks, Julie
no it’s not you…hehehe
Haha – another twisted sista!
so twisted you can’t imagine…hehehe
😀
bandicoots – big as Kangaroos?
Much bigger!!!
(joking – more like the size of a small rabbit, or giant rat 😉

These are great photos, although I have to google on bandicoots!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Magdalene – they’re funny little marsupials 🙂
almost as cute as quokkas
Quokkas are so sweet 🙂
That sign is great, BB! Slow down, Bandicoots . . . you’re headed for extinction. 😉
Haha – you and Gabrielle saw a meaning which I didn’t at first 🙂 thanks, Nancy
No, you’re right – it is amusing…
Thanks, Robin 🙂
nice shots on down theme
Thanks for stopping by, Amar 🙂
Oh…that last sign reminded me of the “Beware of Falliing Rock” signs we have in the mountains around here…what am I suppose to do…duck?! 🙂
Haha – exactly 🙂
great photo for this week’s theme 🙂
Thanks, Janis 🙂
nice take for the theme 🙂
What fun!
I think bandicoots are something Lewis Carroll dreamt up 😉
i have never seen a bandicoot warning sign ..i t is funny … we had some her about 20 years ago but none around now 😦 encouragement from christine http://wp.me/p296YA-2D
Thanks, Christine – I’ve only ever seen them in numbers after dark at North Head, Manly! But that was quite a few years ago.
Brilliant choices… I love how people end up with different and unique examples. 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth 🙂 It is so interesting to see how each person interprets the same theme 🙂
Fab, BB. your Bandicoot sign requires a family viewing – Felix loved it particularly…
That’s great, Kate 😀
Bandicoots – out in the wilds of Manly!
It’s a jungle out there, hehe
LOL i love finding rare type of signs…so amusing! …and helpful lol
Thanks, Eva 😀 Yes, it’d be unwise not to heed them…
I’ve only ever seen a bandicoot once. He was really cute. I’ll need to get over to Manly so I can check out more of them. When I lived at home in the Sutherland Shire (bonza!!!) I volunteered for WIRES and had the pleasure of caring for a baby sugar glider and a baby wombat. They were beyond cute except that the wombat tried to dig up everything and scuffed all my Mum’s wooden floors. I love the Aussie animals. My aim is to see a quokka, a bilby and a numbat. That would be awesome. I love your signs!
Thanks, Selma 😀 What an interesting experience! I love wombats – they are so cute and grumpy. When we go away camping or to Thredbo, my husband loves going wombat-spotting at night (a throwback to our Afrucan bush holidays :)) I’ve never seen a live bilby or numbat, but have seen many quokkas on Rottnest Island – very sweet little critters 🙂
I think it’s just you 🙂
Hehe
Love the signs and the comments. Nice to know travelers will be well taken care of in Australia.
Thanks, Monica 😀 You’re right – we laugh at the signs but wouldn’t do so if we slipped off one of those cliffs 🙂
I also love that you stopped to take a picture of the sign. I’ve seen a few I wished I had stopped for.
It was on a bushwalk and husband was waaaaay ahead, having given up waiting for snap-happy me 🙂
Nice photographs. But I have a very little idea about Bandicoots. I have to Google it. 🙂
Thanks, Arindam – the critters link on the post will take you to a page about them 🙂
Awesome…
Thanks, Sonsofthunder 🙂 Nice of you to pop in
In the last 24 hours I have suddenly become a spammer it seems so you will need to approve me again…
It’s bizarre, Jo – I noticed that Jake’s comments also keep on going into spam.
Sometimes things just strike us as funny. I think signs can be quite amusing on any given day.
That’s so true, Renee 🙂 Thanks
I agree with you – I always think those type of signs are vaguely amusing. We have one that shows a car about to go off a pier into water…

Not sure why your comment ended up in my spam folder, Lorely – WordPress vagaries.
I think our amusement at these kinds of signs probably stems from some kind of primal fear 🙂
Great Entry Blubee 🙂
Oh yeah, definitely draws you to it…definitely 😉
