You’re right! Uncanny resemblance.
They look so grumpy, Julie, but they are such friendly, inquisitive fish 🙂
Yes, very similar, indeed. A cool unusual structure. Great entry.
Thanks – the wind and salt are great sculptors 🙂
There is a striking resemblance there… 😉
Not something fishy about my imagination, then? 😉
wow, you are right! very unusual to see a fish in the rock …that Sydney sandstone gives me twinges of homesickness!!!!
Not far for a visit, Christine 🙂
When I first saw the picture, I thought is was some kind of chameleon fish, BB.
Very good pic.
John
Fantastic – off to look up chameleon fish, John 🙂
Wow! It does!
Rocks rock the imagination 🙂
A remarkable resemblance 🙂
Rocks and clouds fire the imagination, Jan
that’s a very unusual rock formation 🙂
Sandstone is great material for the elements, Amira 🙂
amazing!
Maybe it’s a “rockfish” ~ the state fish in Maryland. 😀
Thanks, BB!
hahaha, Nancy – must look that one up as well 🙂
That is really weird!
It is 🙂
What a riot! I expect the rock to start gurgling any second!
haha – and I would be off like a flash, Monica!
What an amazing rock formation…does look like a fishhead.
Nature’s an artist, Charles 🙂
It certainly looks like the fish. Very interesting.
Sandstone gets sculpted into some very interesting shapes, Northern Narratives
I LOVE this! They resemble each other, but even before I had seen your second photo I had formed the same impression. What a wonderful rock.
I’m glad it’s not only me, Kate. Thx 🙂
It’s obviously a naughty Potato Bass turned to stone by a god of the sea or some sorceress – yes, love the photo bb 😉
hahaha – what a great story you tell 😀
You’re back!
It looks like the potato bass. But an ill-tempered one.
They do look so grumpy, Kathy, but I’ve always found them very friendly when I’ve encountered them on scuba dives
It certainly does…or some strange mushroom growing on the side of a tree. Nice photo.
Hi Renee – good to see you back 🙂
love the photo. Rocks make good subjects don’t they?
They do, Nursemyra – thx 🙂
Yes. Definitely. Isn’t that amazing? It’s like the bass was turned to stone. Awesome!
Haha, yes, Selma, Gabe has a whole mini-narrative on that 🙂

A beautiful stone, carved by nature, and a good eye you have!
Thanks, Benedicte (and for the ping back) 🙂
This is just amazing BB… nature throws up so many hidden delights.
Nature is a masterful artist, isn’t she, Graham 🙂 Thx. Bb
