Thanks, Gabe 🙂 There’s something terribly nostalgic about old brick buildings and smokestacks – I think of them as the tough old survivors in a crazy, modern world
It must be quite strange for the residents since the High Line was opened, Kate – suddenly people peering down these alleyways from previously inaccessible perspectives
I love alleyways so much, but the windows ARE a little close for comfort. The only way to deal with the proximity of the neighbours would be to join in the fun. Binoculars and cams would abound. I could start my own reality show “An Eye On The Alleyway” or “What the Neighbours Saw.” Haha.
Trust you to come up with something so creative, Selma 🙂 I’m clueless when it comes to what goes on in our neighbourhood (sooo boring in the ‘burbs) but, strangely enough, the men seem to be up on all the goss – the hub keeps me informed 😉
this is really close, instant claustrophobia for me!
Me too, Christine. What is that saying about friends and enemies? I don’t think it covers neighbours, but this is far too close for my liking.
Powerful DOF!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
Thanks, Nonoy Manga 🙂
so close…
Too close, Muhammad 🙂
Great photo, you could almost reach across!
Imagine having nosey neighbours in this environment, Gilly? 🙂 They certainly wouldn’t miss a thing!
I love photos like this, of alleyways – the angles and the way our eyes are pulled through the narrow lane to create the depth – good one bb 🙂

love this photo – well done
Thanks, Nursemyra 🙂
complete with smokestack!
I love the old smokestacks – this one’s in NYC, but there are also still a few in Sydney
It looked New Yorkish – but cleaner.
Have you walked the High Line, Monica? It’s such an interesting study in urban renewal.
How strange…I just read a poem which made me envision an image like this in my head and then I see your photo…Wow!
How very strange and interesting, Charles 🙂 Synchronicity!
Something I experience everyday. Would be nice to sometimes live a little further from neighbours 🙂
Yes 🙂 living so close to neighbours can be both a curse and a blessing. Thanks, Colline 🙂
What a great shot – where is it?
Thanks, GFB – I took it while walking the High Line in New York last September
Fantastic: so much to look at in such a very small space….

Pretty awesome shot. Love it! 😉
Thanks, Elizabeth – taken in your part of the world 🙂

One of my favorite places and I wrote a post about the Highline. 😉

Love it…the effects really make it tell a story. Where was the photo taken ???
Hi Jo – I took it on the High Line in New York. Thx 🙂
wonderful to see, so delightfully hidden 🙂
Thanks, Nicola 🙂
Exquisite!
Thanks, Habiba 🙂
