Kant’s principle of respect for persons states that we should never use people as means to an end.
Kant obviously had no sense of humour.

inside the train and inside themselves 😉
Yes 🙂
I don’t get what Kant has to do with this photo. Or what this photo has to do with using people as a means to an end. Or why Kant has no sense of humor.
What am I missing???
BTW: It’s most me just being slow out of the starting block today. I’m feeling groggy and foggy and sloggy.
The Kantian connection is rather obscure, so your groggy, foggy, sloggy self is not way off the mark. 😀 I had a boss who used to say: my understanding is the meaning of your communication.
Using these photo subjects as a means to humour on my blog. I felt a bit guilty snapping them in their shut eye reverie, but only for a second. 😆
OMG! That’s so funny, BB. I was focused on the handicap sign and strained my weary brain to figure out how these meditative souls were “using” each other. And it was YOU all along, stealing their images for your own ends.
The reference to Kant makes sense now too ~ if we can’t use perfectly posed and poised models for the amusement and entertainment of the social media masses, we’re doomed!
😀
Quite like that photo…people so close…but so far apart from one another.
😀 – trains are wonderful places to study human behaviour.
I can see that those two seated have used the disabled seats as a means to park their ends!
Kant was an idjit. Many people in one’s lives are means, and would not mean to be ends in themselves. Others have meaningful ends without having been means. Simple: see?
😀 I need a nap after reading that 🙆
Actually, Col, anyone can sit in a seat for the disabled, but must vacate it if a disabled person boards.
Makes sense! I haven’t seen disabled seats here – only disabled parking which is never supposed to be occupied by anyone not. Of course, you always get the chancers.
Simple
I will do the edit – I know your typo would be driving you crazy, haha
At least you had a clear view across from one side to the other ! 😉
TO, not of … sighh …
🙂 WordPress needs to give us a utility that lets us edit our comments for up to 5 minutes after we’ve posted them, don’t you think?
Oh, what a FABULOUS idea !!! – the number of times I’ve hit the publish button on a comment and seen, at the same time, some hideous typo go by … Would you add this to ‘Suggestions’, Bluebee ?
You know that scene in a movies when the corpse unexpectedly opens its eyes? I was anticipating that, but would still have leapt out of my skin 🙂
Were you openly using your phone …?
Attempting to be surreptitious 😀
Hilarious, it really is. And I don’t even know why !
I love the way you use them as a means to an end. It certainly worked! 😀
😀
hahahaha they might track you down and pay you back 😉 #watchout
#asleepanddribbling 😉
Taking another look at this photo, I am amazed that these folks can sleep without keeling over, leaning on, and thus using each other etc. I missed your guilt at snapping without permission. Good challenge, BB.
It is amazing, Monica, and how the wake at the right stop!
