The fish is way to big for a little bird like that 😀 If it was hungry, I do hope the bird found something else to eat. Great eye spotting this little one on the rocks, BB. Looks like he didn’t see you 🙂
Thanks, Mabel. 😄 I think there is so much for birds to eat in Shanghai. Human-suitable food is not in short supply there, so there’s no shortage of crumbs/morsels for a beady-eyed birdy, although I’m not sure how healthy it is.
In this case, I expect you’re right, but the other day I saw a cormorant with a fish in its beak that seemed too big by far for the bird to swallow . . . but down it went.
Holy cow! I see him holding on to something and a tripod at his feet. I wonder if he was trying to hold the eagle while photographing him. Bad idea. I didn’t realize how huge these birds are – I see them only from a distance.
Travelling alone can have its advantages – one gets to stop and be still at will. Being in such a huge city (for work) when I knew no-one (as at my first weekend, which was at leisure) heightened the senses and the need to be still, and to observe – extraordinary.

You never know. I saw a clip recently of an eagle trying to carry away a cameraman. He didn’t succeed thankfully.
Hard to imagine, BB. Those talons must have hurt.

Oh..now that made me laugh…perfect!
😄 Laughter is good. 😄
P.S….it also reminded me of this>
A lovely bit of nostalgia there, Charles. How sweet the young chorus. 😄
Gorgeous. Frank would have been 100 this year.
Good grief!
Love this!
Innocent and extremely cheesy 😁
Sometimes it’s just nice to dream….I love this photo!
Yes. 😄 Thanks, Cynthia.
Love the picture, the thought, and the comments generated.

I love being still at will. Such a luxury.
That would be optimism bigtime!
I concur, Col. It’s what I would call
malignant optimism. 😋
I would say his eyes are bigger than his stomach but those beady eyes are obviously quite small.
But bigger than the sense in that bird brain.
That is such a cute one! Loved it. Great shot as well. The bird was comfortable in your presence. 🙂
Thanks, Parul. I think the birds in the garden are used to all the tourists so are generally quite tame.
You can do it, little guy.
This tiny critter needs friends like you to counter the detractors that think he’s a birdbrain 😋
This is such a fun post! That little bird is certainly thinking big 😀
It must be wonderful to be a bird – you get to fly and live sans the existential crisis! 😄
very optimistic – I was thinking a two times winning horse in the Melbourne cup #thinkbig 😉
That would be magical (thinking) 🤓
I’m thinking this is really cute 🙂
😄
😀 Thanks for the giggle 😀
